How Long is a Photo-Session?Anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. The average photo-session lasts for 1 ½ hours.. I am patient with my clients and allow for breaks as needed. There is no time-limit, I simply keep taking pictures until I feel satisfied with a variety of poses and expressions. Scheduling your Photo-SessionPlease schedule your photo-session 4 weeks prior to your appointment. Remember that the fall months are the busiest, so book your preferred time well in advance during this time. Prior to the photo-session, I will meet with your family in order to get acquainted and get a feel for your child’s unique appearance and personality. Consider your child’s routine of naps and feedings before scheduling his or her appointment. For maternity portraits, I suggest to arrange for pictures between week 32-36 of your pregnancy. Try to schedule your appointment around week 25 for best availability. Preparing your Child for Picture-TimePlease do not practice smiling with your child prior to session. I will take the time to ensure that I capture all the true expressions just by interacting with your child. It is helpful if you let me know your child’s favorite songs, stories, or movies so I can use this to make small-talk with your child during the photo-session. Make sure your child has a full tummy and is alert for the photo-shoot. Bring some snacks and a drink and a favorite toy/book/blanket in order to make him or her feel comfortable. It is often nice to include a favorite teddy in some of the pictures. If your child happens to incur cuts or bruises before the session, which isn’t uncommon in the toddler years, I will be glad to move the appointment for a later date. It is also possible digitally remove most imperfections. What to WearLess is more. For infants and babies, I recommend bare-skin pictures. For clothing, choose solid colors without distracting patterns. It is a good idea to color coordinate clothing on family members so that everyone wears light, dark, or denim. Moms-to-be especially should be careful not to wear anything elastic over areas that will show during the session. Keep in mind that strap-marks and tanning lines are not flattering in photographs. Choose clothing that will show off your pregnancy, rather than hide it. Discuss with me ahead of time if you have any specific ideas of what you would like. I suggest a conservative approach for hair, make-up and jewelry. Viewing the ImagesDigital images will be available for viewing within a week after the photo-session. I will call you to set up a time to review the pictures with you. At this time, please be prepared to place your order. It is helpful to have an idea of where you would like to display your pictures, and who you are buying for. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery of your order. Payment of order is due at viewing session. |
